OUR STORY
Write the vision, make it plain so he may run who reads it.
The South Chicago Hub became a reality in October of 2021 after 2 years of running a 250 sq ft dressmaking studio and boutique with sewing classes. My students and I needed more space to thrive. Experiencing the devastation and illness of Covid-19 gave many individuals the realization that life is indeed filled with the unexpected, but having a plan can change the trajectory of most situations. Covid created a new perspective and determination for life, particularly entrepreneurship.
As I hesitantly followed my business plan to expand after two years, I was unexpectedly blessed with 7500 square ft of workspace. It wasn't until weeks after that I was reminded by my daughter that I asked for an entrepreneurial hub in my original business plan.
"In the near future, Doreetha aspires to open an entrepreneurial hub"
Within one year of opening, The South Chicago Hub was transformed from a desolate suite in need of major updating and repairs to a beautiful welcoming hub for Artists and Entrepreneurs in the Chicagoland area. Since its incorporation, we've been selected by organizations such as Sunshine Enterprise, Comcast, Amazon, PNC (Greenwood Archer), and most recently Fifth Third Bank (AEO) to receive support and financial resources to grow the business. We are a certified EDWOSB that has partnered with A Better Tomorrow For Today's Teen to bring youth Training to "The Hub".
